Farmer Dies At 86
J Harvey Hahn, 86, a retired farmer who spent nearly all of his life in Adams Township, died Tuesday afternoon in the Terrace View Rest Home at Millersburg. Although he had been in failing health for some time, death was unexpected. He was born February 28, 1873, in Adams Township, a son of David and Mary Studor Hahn and was married October 27, 1898 to the former Olive May Brubaker who died March 29, 1927. Mr Hahn was long a member of Zion Lutheran Church and the Franklin Grange. Surviving are two sons, Glen of Thornville Route 1 and Harvey of West Lafayette Route 1; three daughters, Mrs Pearl Cunningham of Cumberland, Mrs Bernice Doughty of Coshocton and Mrs Elsie Welker of New Concord Route 1; 12 grandchildren and four great-grandchildren; four sisters, Mrs Mina Thresh, Mrs Merne Stubbs, Mrs Alva Price, all of Coshocton and Mrs Lillie Turner of Newcomerstown. Six brothers, three sisters, his wife and a daughter preceded him in death. Friends will be received at the Shirer and Son Funeral Home at Adamsville after 7 pm, today until noon Friday, when the body will be taken to the Zion Lutheran Church, to lie in state for one hour before services are held at 2 pm. Rev F M Koepplin is to officiate and interment will be made in the church cemetery.
