31 Oct 2009: Albert W. Dreibelbis, Sr., 89, of State College, died Thursday, Oct. 29, 2009, at home. Born Jan. 18, 1920, in State College, he was a son of the late William E. and Elizabeth C. Shuey Dreibelbis. On Feb. 5, 1944, he married Virginia May Ray, who survives at home. Albert was a life-long farmer in Ferguson Township. He was a member of St. Peter's United Church of Christ, serving on the Consistory of the church. He belonged to the Pennsylvania Farm Bureau and Pine Hall Grange. He enjoyed fishing both locally and in Delaware Bay, and hunting, particularly in the West and Canada. He also enjoyed gardening. Along with his wife, he is survived by five children, Albert W. Dreibelbis, Jr. and his wife, Jo-Ann L., of Pennsylvania Furnance, Sylvia M. Storm and her husband, Glenn, of Lehighton, LeRoy E. Dreibelbis and his wife, Karen D., of Pennsylvania Furnace, Larry P. Dreibelbis and his wife, Lori, of Port Matilda, and Shirley A. Martain and her husband, Jaime, of Aaronsburg; a sister Ella Mae Homan, of Florida; a brother, LeRoy E. Dreibelbis and his wife, Geraldine, of Pennsylvania Furnace; 15 grandchildren and 19 great-grandchildren. Visitation will be 1-3 p.m. on Sunday, Nov. 1, at Koch Funeral Home, 2401 S. Atherton St., State College. Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. on Monday, Nov. 2, at St. Peter's United Church of Christ with Rev. Charles Fitzgerald officiating. Burial will be in Pine Hall Cemetery. [Centre Daily]
