Roxie Rae Oney Allen, age 89 of West Liberty, Kentucky passed away Monday, October 19, 2009 in the Edgewood Estates Nursing Home, Frenchburg, Kentucky surrounded by her family.
She was born December 14, 1919 in Morgan County, KY; daughter of the Late Sam Oney & Gussie Salyers Oney.
Roxie was a postmaster of Caney Post Office for 16 years. She was a member of West Liberty Church of God on Glenn Ave in West Liberty for 44 years.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 62 years Raliegh Allen, 1 daughter; Loretta Mae Whitley, 5 brothers; Park, Beryl, Jack, Grover & Paul Oney and 1 sister; Ruby Lykins.
She is survived by a son, Willard Allen & wife, Ann Allen of Caney, KY, 1 granddaughter, Lisa & Jamie Adkins of Caney, KY, 1 grandson, Todd Allen of Caney, KY, 3 precious great-grandchildren, Leslie Sponcil of Caney, KY, Dustin Adkins of Caney, KY and Sierra Allen of Maytown, KY, and 1 sister, Helen Higgins of Caney, KY.
Funeral services will be conducted at 1:00 pm Thursday, October 22, 2009 at Herald & Stewart & Halsey Chapel with Rev. Eugene Haney & Rev. Harry Frisby officiating.
Burial in the Gullett Cemetery in White Oak, Kentucky.
Visitation 11:00 am Thursday at Herald & Stewart & Halsey Funeral Home.
