American Civil War Soldier. Enlisted as a Union soldier on 9/1/1864 as a musician drummer, CO C 43 Wisconsin Infantry. Mustered out on 6/24/1865 in Nashville, TN. He received his education in the common schools. He came to Pierce County, Wisconsin in 1869, staying one year in El Paso then moved to a 60 acre farm on section 24, River Falls, Wisconsin.
