Elizabeth Briggs age 93, widow of Robert Briggs died Friday, October 30, 2009, in the McCall Hospice House in Simpsonville. Mrs. Briggs was retired from Thomason's Jewelers and was a member of Laurens First United Methodist Church. She was also a member of DAR and the Laurens Garden Club. She is survived by a son, Bill Briggs of Isle of Palms, SC; a daughter, Beth Dickerson and husband, Rick of Pelzer; nine grandchildren; and six great grandchildren. Mrs. Briggs was predeceased by two sons, Bob Briggs and Dickie Briggs. Graveside services will be conducted on Sunday, November 1, at 2:00 p.m., in the Laurens City Cemetery. Memorials may be made to Laurens First Methodist Church, 244 West Main Street, Laurens, SC 29360.
