Sally Ann Harwell was born in LaGrange, Texas to Samuel Ed and Mary Marguerite (Campbell) Harwell. She was one of 5 girls, and only two ever married as Samuel Ed never wanted any of his daughters to leave or marry.
She first married Dallas Frank Stewart and they had one child, Dahlia Stewart. Dallas died of diabetes in 1913 when Dahlia was only 2 years old.
Sally then, a time later, married a second time to Thomas Napoleon (TN) Jennings, a widower with several small children that worked on his farm. Sally left Dahlia at the Harwell family farm to be raised by her aunts and grandparents. One a school teacher, one a concert pianist and music teacher and one that worked the farm and took care of the parents.
Together, Sally and TN had one child, Wilson Harwell Jennings.
