Art was an on-site foreman for the prestigious construction firm of Taylor Wheeler Builders for 36 years, building many noteworthy houses during his career, including Fresno's famous Dream House and several residences on Seventeen Mile Drive in Carmel and the Art Colony of Big Sur.
In retirement he did repair work for anyone who called. There was nothing he couldn't fix.
He is survived by Ella his wife of 43 years; children, Dotty and Al Warkentine of Clovis, Nancy and Harry Siemens of Fresno, Bonnie and Dan Andrus of St. Louis, Missouri, Jerry and Debbie Penner of Fresno; 12 grandchildren; and 12 great-grandchildren. In addition, he is mourned by many relatives, friends, and a host of people for whom he did repair work.
A Graveside Service will be held at Belmont Memorial Park, on Saturday, October 31, 2009, at 1:30 p.m.
A Memorial Service will be held at Bethany Church, on Sunday, November 1, 2009, at 3:00 p.m.
