She was the daughter of John McGimpsey who died October 21, 1870, shortly after the family arrived in Barton.

Sunday Times, Cumberland, Maryland, 26 Nov 1944: "Honored on 80th Birthday-Mrs. Mary Ann Logsdon, of Barton, was honored on her 80th birthday with a dinner held Thursday at her home. A large cake adorned the Thanksgiving Day table. All of her children were home for the occasion. Those attending included Mr. and Mrs. John D. Logsdon, Panama Canal Zone; Dr. William Logsdon, Baltimore, Charles S. Logsdon, New York City; Mr. and Mrs. Lloyd Logsdon, Lonaconing; Mr. and Mrs. Alvin Logsdon, William, James and Mary Kathleen Logsdon, Mr. and Mrs. Henry Howell, and Mr. and Mrs. Charles Howell."

Evening Times, Cumberland, Maryland Thu 27 Dec 1956: "Barton-Mrs. Mary Ann Logsdon, 92, widow of William T. Logsdon, died yesterday at her home here following a recent illness. A native of Scotland, she was a daughter of the late John and Martha McGimpsey and came here with her parents 87 years ago. She was a member of Barton Presbyterian Church. She is survived by two daughters, Mrs. Charles Howell and Mrs. Henry Howell, both of Barton; three sons, John P. Logsdon, Barton, William Logsdon, Barton, and Charles S. Logsdon, Arlington, Va.; two sisters, Mrs. Sarah Snyder and Mrs. Ella McCutcheon, both of Washington, 19 grandchildren and 23 great-grandchildren. The body is at the residence. Services will be conducted Saturday at 2 p.m. at Barton Presbyterian Church by Rev. Ellwood F. Carey, pastor, and interment will be in Laurel Hill Cemetery, Moscow."
