From obituary: Early in the 1930's Marcus was President of the International Apple Association in Boston. He was later owner of Alfred W. Otis and Company in Boston, operating as an auction receiver, and also representing the Produce News in the Hub City. He was in the business for over 50 years and often wrote interesting articles for the Boston papers about his experiences in the trade in the early days. He was President of the Branch League in Boston and later made honorary member for life of the National League. Member of the First Universalist Church in Somerville.
