BEATRICE A "BEA" BAER
FROSTBURG - Beatrice A. "Bea"Baer, 84, of Frostburg and of Orlando, Fla., died Wednesday, May 26, 1999, at Sacred Heart Hospital.
Born Jan. 30, 1915, in Shaft, she was the daughter of the late Arthur and Bertha (Spiker) Alexander. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Raymond S. "Teddy"Baer, in 1983; her daughter, Doris Jean Baer, at age 6; and son, Raymond Arthur Baer, deceased at age 24.
Mrs. Baer received her B.A. degree from Frostburg State University in 1962 and attended Pitt University and Indiana University. She taught school in Bedford County, Pa., and retired in 1978.
She was a member of St. Paul's Presbyterian Church, Winter Haven, Fla. She was a member of Women of the Moose, Chapter #22, American Legion Auxiliary Unit #24, AARP Florida Chapter #18, PASR, Bedford County Retired Teachers, P.S.T.A., and a former member of Shaft Homemakers.
Surviving are one son, Glenn Dale Baer and wife, Joyce, Annapolis; two grandchildren, Joshua Michael Baer and Laura Michelle Baer; long-time friend and companion, Joseph Donahue; and nieces and nephews.
Friends will be received at the Sowers Funeral Home, P.A., 60 W. Main St., Frostburg, on Thursday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m.
Services will be conducted at the funeral home on Friday at 11 a.m. with the Rev. Steven Shussett officiating.
Interment will be in Frostburg Memorial Park.
