Robert Nelson Davis was born in Bath Township, Franklin County, Indiana, to Zachariah "Zachery" and Hannah (Davis) DAVIS (Hannah's maiden name was DAVIS as well). Zachariah and Hannah (Davis) DAVIS were married in the fall of 1813, in Fayette County, Pennsylvania, and removed the following spring for Butler County, Ohio, near Reiley, arriving about 1814. They moved later, about 1817, across the state line into Franklin County, Indiana, to Colter's Corner, Bath Township.
