OKOLONA - Bessie Rosie Lee Hill, 69, died Monday, January 1, 2001,at the North Mississippi Medical Center. She was born December 4, 1931 to Mary A. Buchanan and Whitt Wilson in Chickasaw County.

Services were at 12 noon Saturday, January 6, at New Zion M. B. Church in Van Vleet with the Rev. Odell Bowens officiating. Burial was in the church cemetery. Williams Memorial Funeral Home was in charge of the arrangements.

Survivors include five daughters, Nettie Gates and her husband Lilton, Joyce Foster and her husband J. T., Michelle Hill, Linda Moore and her husband Tommie Lee all of Okolona, and Mary Jane Brownlee and her husband Lee Earnest of Tupelo; five sons, Jimmy (Sondra) Hill of Okolona, George(Carolyn) Hill, Robery (Shirley) Hill, of Houlka, J. C.(Emma)Hill of Van Vleet, James (Louise) Hill of Verona;Four sisters, Jessie Mae Wilson of Grand Rapids Mich.,Willie B. Sykes of Egypt, Davie D. Smith of Houston,Nussie Mayfield of Okolona; Thirty-three grandchildren, Ten great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents, one brother T. A. Gates, and two sons, Jessie Hill and Robert Lee Hill.

Her grandsons and nephews served as pallbearers.
