JORDAN, WILLIAM CARROLL - age 68, of Clinton, passed away Wednesday, January 26, 2000, at Methodist Medical Center in Oak Ridge. He was a member of the Clinton Church of God, a retired farmer and a native of England, Ark.

He had been a resident of Clinton since 1994. William was a Navy Combat Veteran during the Korean conflict. Among his medals & citations were Presidential Unit Citation, Special commendation from his commanding officer for Superior Performance of Duty, Korean Service Medal with 2 bronze stars & a China Foreign Service Medal. He was stationed from one year in the Aleutian Islands. He was elected & served as a member of the Board of Directors of the Franklin Parish School Board in Winnsboro, La. He was a former member of the Arkansas Officials Association. Preceded in death by parents, Manley & Thelma Jordan; brother, Milford Jordan.

Survivors:wife,Catherine "Dusenberry" Jordan of Clinton; son, Dr. Manley M. Jordan and wife Nancy of Oak Ridge; daughter, Sharon Joy Jordan Lee & husband John David of Winnsboro, La.; sister, Jackie Yarbrough of Winnsboro, La.; brothers, Glen Jordan of England, Ark., Harold Jordan of England, Ark., and Travis Jordan of England, Ark.; grandsons, Andrew Jordan & Alex Jordan, both of Oak Ridge. Honorary pallbearer: Dr. Charles W. Bruton of Oak Ridge. The family will receive friends 6-8 p.m. Thursday, January 27, 2000 at Holley-Gamble Funeral Home in Clinton.

Graveside services will be held 2 p.m. Friday, January 28, 2000 in the chapel with Garry Jones officiating. Interment will follow the service at Grandview Memorial Gardens in Clinton. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Clinton Church of Christ, PO Box 298, Clinton, TN 37717, or the American Lung Association. Holley-Gamble Funeral Home of Clinton in charge of all arrangements.
