Daughter of Revolutionary War veteran Isaac Ackley (06 Oct 1721 - 17 Dec 1798) and Ruth Gates (10 Aug 1721 - 25 Dec 1789), both of East Haddam, Middlesex Co., Connecticut.

Dimmis Ackley married David Wickham II of East Haddam on 23 August 1764; his grave as yet undiscovered. Because he was a direct descendant of Mayflower Compact signatories Stephen Hopkins (two distinct lines) and Thomas Rogers, she is cited in The General Society of Mayflower Descendants (GSMD) silver books, otherwise known as the 'Five Generations Project'.
