ELKO, Nev.—Funeral services for Robert James Knott were conducted March 9, in Elko, Nev.

Knott, 63, died March 6 at Ruby Mountains Manor in Elko, Nev., following a long illness.

Knott was born May 19, 1927, in Akeley, Minn., was raised there and attended Akeley schools. He served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War and, following his discharge, worked in construction in the West.

He moved to Rock Springs in 1974 and from there to Elko in August 1987. He lived in Spring Creek and worked on various construction projects in the Elko area.

He married Mary Louise Homboch in 1949 in Thief River Falls, Minn.

He was a member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars and the American Legion, both in Hutchinson, Minn., and Elko. He was also a member of Carpenters’ Local 971 of Reno, Nev.

Survivors, in addition to his wife, include to sons, Jeffery Knott, Springs Creek, and Robert Knott Jr., Rock Springs; three stepsons, Bill Homboch, Brooklyn Park, Minn., Wally Homboch and John Homboch, both of Hutchinson; a stepdaughter, Natalie Barrie, Stanwood, Wash.; three brothers, William and Charles Knott, both of Akeley and Mathias Knott, Spring Creek; sisters, Ruth Moore and Mary Semmler, Akeley, Dorothy Brown, Salmon, Idaho, and Grace Knott, Port Townsend, Wash.; seven grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.
