Jim Johnson, 62, of Amarillo died Friday, Jan. 2, 2004.

Graveside services will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday in Panhandle Cemetery in Panhandle. Arrangements are by Schooler Funeral Home, 4100 S. Georgia St.

Mr. Johnson was born June 20, 1941, in Vernon. He attended Palo Duro High School and graduated with the "Class of 1959."

He married Judy Meaker in 1959 in Amarillo. He joined the Air Force and fought in the Vietnam War.

He was a sheet metal worker for his entire career and retired in 2000. He was a member of Sheet Metal Local No. 67 in Austin.

He was preceded in death by a son, Neal Wayne Johnson.

Survivors include his wife; a daughter, Carrie Johnson of Amarillo; two sons, Guy Johnson and Craig Johnson, both of Amarillo; two sisters, Francis Crow of Orange and Wanda Hites of Amarillo; and six grandchildren, Heather Garms, Joshua Garms, Amber Johnson, Tyler Johnson, Nicholas Foster and Carter Johnson, all of Amarillo.

The family suggests memorials be to Cowboy Church on Washington Street.
