Funeral services for Lawrence Groves, 45, of Blackville, who died in Columbia Thursday at the home of his sister, Mrs Ida Groves Stuber, 1227 Oak Lawn, will be held at Blackville from the Sacred Heart Catholic Church at 10:30 Saturday morning. Interment will be in Blackville Cemetery.

Serving as active pallbearers will be: Jack Farrell, John O'Gorman, Dr C A Epps, Dr R A Gyles, Kelly Browning and S B Pringle; honorary: W A Stone, W W Moloney, Charles Hutto, L C Still and H L Dewitt. The body was carried to Blackville Friday morning.

Mr Groves had been in declining health for some time but death came suddenly, due to complications and heart failure.

Surviving him are his widow, who was formerly Miss Elizabeth Meyer of Asheville; his mother, Mrs Frank Groves of Blackville; three brothers, Charles Grove of Savannah, Dr Michael Groves of Charleston, and Harry C Groves of Akron, Ohio; two sisters, Mrs Charles W Stuber and Mrs H F Lewis of Charleston.
