Dolores Evans

Vaiden

Violet Dolores King Evans, 89, of the Wesley Chapel Church community near Vaiden, passed away September 7, 2013 at Tyler Holmes Memorial Hospital in Winona, after a lengthy illness. She was born to Herman King and Nellie Curtis King. She was a devout Christian, loving mother, and housewife. She married Thomas Harold Evans and they gave birth to nine boys. She leaves behind a very large family who dearly loved her and will miss her so much. Her family will always treasure her beautiful smile and heartfelt laughter, and especially, the silly little nicknames that she gave each one. She loved cooking for her large family and would prepare each grandchild their favorite food. She taught all of them about Jesus and always found something positive to say about everyone.

Mrs. Evans is survived by her sons, Don H. Evans (Belinda) of Madison, Bernard Evans (Gail) of Saltillo, Mike Evans (Pam) of Flora, Tommy Hugh Evans of Florence, Craig Evans of Kosciusko, and Trent Evans (Jan) of Flora, and a host of grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband Harold, her sons, Harold Curtis Evans (Nancy), Stanley Herman Evans, and Shelly Keith Evans.

Jordan Funeral Home of Kosciusko will be in charge of the funeral with Bro. Billy Little officiating. Her brother-in-law, Bobby Joe Evans, will deliver the eulogy. Visitation will be at Jordan Funeral Home from 5 to 8 p.m. Monday, September 9th with services at 10 a.m. Tuesday at the funeral home. Interment will follow at Hebron Baptist Church Cemetery in the Carmack community.

Pallbearers will be grandsons, Lance Evans, Hunter Evans, Parker Evans, Judd Evans, Joel Evans, Taylor Evans, Chord Evans, and Joah Evans. Honorary pallbearers will be Kempe Hodges, Troy Hodges, Ricky Corley, Lamar Ellis, Larry King, Doug King and SSG Justin Evans.
