MELVIN: The funeral of Marguerite A. Thackeray, 72, who died Sunday, November 1, 1981, will be at 2 p.m. Thursday at Danforth-Sprau Funeral Home, Roberts, IL.
The Rev. E.J. Lang will officiate and burial will be in Melvin Cemetery.
Visitation will be from 7 to 9 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.
She was born January 31, 1909, in Onarga, a daughter of George Frederick and Elizabeth Moser Howk. She married T.D. Thackeray on March 25, 1928, at Melvin. He survives. Also surviving are a son, Fred W. of Melvin; two daughters, Sue Dorner of Normal, and Ann Frichtl of Mahomet; a sister, H. Janette Klintworth of Colfax; a brother, John of Melvin and six grandchildren.
She was a member of Melvin United Methodist Church and a 50-year member of the Order of the Eastern Star. She was associated with the publication of the Melvin newspaper, Ford County Press, for many years.
