Daughter of Robert H. Broadfield and Mary Folk/Falk/Faulk
Wife of Pinkney Lafayette Groome [1st marriage-married 26 Nov 1878]
Mother of: Pinkney Broadfield Groome, Mary Groome, Bailey Troy Groome, Key Groome, Jane Ruth Groome, Huldah Groome, John Z. Groome and Cora LaFay Groome
Died in Washington, D.C. while visiting her daughter Huldah Groome McNinch, wife of first FCC Chairman Frank McNinch.

Wife of Dennis C. Carey [2nd marriage - married 25 Apr 1934 in Pinellas County, Florida per Florida Marriage License] License lists her as Cora Lillian Groome, states she was born in Salisbury, was 65yo (she was really 74 at the time!) and was living in St. Petersburg, Florida at the time of the marriage.
The May 1934 obituary of her son, Bailey Troy Groome, also lists his mother as Mrs. D. C. Carey. She is buried with her first husband and evidently never used the Carey name again after the death of her second husband.

Birth month and year from 1900 census record.
Death date from Greensboro [NC] Daily News obituary.
