Faye R. Snyder age 89 of Lake City, our beloved OMA passed away October 22, 2009 at the Lake City Hospital.

Faye was born February 23, 1920 in Higden, Arkansas, the youngest daughter of Joe Cephas and Amanda (Potter) Redman, and had a happy carefree life in the Ozarks among many close relatives and friends. After finishing HS and Business School, she took a secretarial job during WWII at Camp Chaffee in Ft. Smith, Arkansas. It was there that she met the MN Yankee, Arthur F. Snyder, Jr., on a blind date. They were married on 1 April 1944. Thus began her life as a "camp follower" military wife, and their adventures were many over the course of 64 years. Their travels included living and traveling in Europe and many years at Ft. Leavenworth, KS. She enjoyed making ceramics and belonging to a rosary making group at St Ignatius church. Her great joy was in the company of their large family and putting out the sandwich platters when visitors arrived. In 2003, Faye and Arthur moved to Lake City, MN. Arthur passed away August 24, 2008. Faye was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church in Lake City.

Faye is survived by, three sons, Arthur F. (Pamela) Snyder III of Rochester, Matthew (Carol) Snyder of Oskaloosa, KS, Peter (Joann) Snyder of Idaho Falls, ID; a daughter Janet (Michael) Jarvis of Barre, VT; 14 grandchildren; 11 great grandchildren, a daughter in-law Gayle Snyder of Lake City and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband, a son, Michael J. Snyder, one brother and 6 sisters. Oma was cherished by everyone and looked forward to the day when the Circle would once more be unbroken.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be Wednesday, October 28, 2009 at 10:00 AM at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Lake City, with Father Robert Meyer officiating. Burial will be in St. Mary's Catholic Cemetery in Minneapolis. Friends may call one hour before the service at the church. Mahn Family Funeral Home Anderson-Peterson Chapel Lake City. In lieu of flowers, donations to St Mary of the Lake Catholic Church, 419 W. Lyon Ave, Lake City, MN 55041, in her memory are preferred.
