Freda Baird Sheets, 78, of Vienna, W.Va., went to be with her Lord and Savior, January 6, 2009 at her residence. She was born September 19, 1930 in Roane County, W.Va., a daughter of the late Charles Ellison and Rosa Hardman Ellison Gandee.

Freda retired from Nashua Photo and formerly worked at Darling Dress Shop and Ormonds Dress Shop. She was a member of St. Andrews United Methodist Church and attended South Parkersburg Baptist Church. She was a member of the Ladies Auxiliary of the Fraternal Order of Eagles, V.F.W., and the American Legion. She was a member of the Woodmen of the World Degree of Honor, The Red Hat Society/Red Diamond Flinderation, Wood County Tea Party, Wood County Democratic Women's Club, and the Camden-Clark Life-Time Partners.

Surviving are her beloved children, Melody Baird Mason of Parkersburg, W.Va., Robin (Sheets) Davis and husband, Stuart of Washington, W.Va., and John Kevin Baird of Parkersburg, W.Va.; one sister, Murl Romine and husband, Kenna of Hurricane, W.Va.; grandchildren, Amber Mason, Ashley Lott, Justin Baird, Morgan Davis, and Carly Davis; great-grandchildren, Mason "Little Guy" Cyran and his twin brother and sister coming in March.

In addition to her parents, Freda was preceded in death by her first husband, John E. Baird; sisters, Azeline Jeffreys, Josephine Lockhart, Ruth Riel, and Iva Dare Fields; brother, Earl Gandee, and former husband, William Sheets.

Funeral services will be held 1:00 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 10, 2009 at Lambert-Tatman Funeral Home, 400 Green St. Parkersburg, W.Va. with Pastor Joe Busch officiating. Burial will follow in Mt. Olivet Cemetery. Visitation will be from 2:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. Friday and two hours prior to services Saturday at the funeral home.

A special thanks to Dr. Dori Rajan, Terry, Michelle, and staff; hospice, and her many friends.
