Hintz, John J Fitchburg/Madison - John J. Hintz, age 68, of 5982 Woods Edge Road, died unexpectedly, on Tuesday, May 7, 1991 at a local hospital. He was born on October 5, 1922 in Madison, the son of John and Margaret (Kelly) Hintz. He was a Madison and Chicago resident all of his life. He married Barbara Dreger on December 6, 1941, in Madison, Wisconsin. He retired from Inland Steel eight years ago after 18 years of service. He was a veteran of World War II serving in the Army, the 4th Ranger Battallion in Africa, Italy, Sicily and Anzio. Survivors include his wife Barbara, his mother Lucy Dreger, of Fitchburg; a sister Florence (Elbert) Hansen, of Deefield, Wisconsin; a brother, Charles Dreger of Madison; several aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, great nieces and nephews. He was preceeded in death by his father, Leonard Dreger, April 6, 1988. A family Eulogy will be held at 2:00 p.m. in Friday, May 10, 1991 in the Schroeder Funeral Home, 3325 East Washington Avenue. Burial will be in Roselawn Memorial Park Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. on Thursday, May 9, 1991.
