Scherping, Mrs. Linda F., Saginaw, Michigan.
Passed away Wednesday December 16, 1998 at her home. Age 92 years. The daughter of the late Charles and Caroline Popp, Linda was born May 13, 1906 in Bridgeport, Michigan. She was married to Carl L. Scherping on May 23, 1929. He predeceased her May 18, 1983 at the age of 81. She had been employed at Heavenrich's until her retirement in 1955. Linda was a member of Countryside Trinity Church, Martha Washington Chapter #113, White Shrine #34, Daughters of the Nile #99, Rebekah Lodge #253, Saginaw Womens Club and the E.K.S. Club of Saginaw. Surviving are one daughter-in-law, Barbara Smith and her husband Gary, Hale, Mich.; five grandchildren, Peggy and Craig Stolz, Pismo Beach, Calif.; David and Wendy Scherping, Lincoln, Nebraska; Jeanne and Eric Watz, Saginaw; Jody Scherping, Saginaw; Melinda Scherping and her fiance Allan Volker, Kalamazoo; seven great grandchildren; several nieces and nephews, including Charles Scherping, whom she raised as a boy. Linda was preceded in death by a son, Richard Scherping, in 1978, a great grandson, Jeremy Scherping, and by five brothers and two sisters, Louis, Carl, George, Floris and Richard Popp, Bertha Gross and Minnie Martindale.
Funeral service will take place 11:30 a.m. Monday, December 21, 1998 at The Snow Funeral Home, 3775 N. Center Rd., (between Shattuck and McCarty). Rev. Patricia Reid will officiate with burial in Roselawn Memorial Gardens. Friends may call at the funeral home where the family will be present on Sunday from 1:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. and 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. and on Monday from 10:30 a.m. until time of service. The Martha Washington Chapter #113 will have a service 7:00 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home. Those planning an expression of sympathy may wish to consider memorials to Contryside Trinity Church.
