Born in Greenwood County, he was a son of the late James Arthur and Jennie Wren Rhodes. He was a retired employee of J.P.Stevens Clemson Plant, a member of East Clemson Baptist Church and T.L.Henderson Sunday School Class.
Surviving are his wife, Pearline Smith Rhodes, two sons, William Clarence Rhodes of Seneca and Johnny H. Rhodes of Calhoun Falls; three daughters, Mrs. Elizabeth Boxx of Greenwood, Mrs. Runnette Putnam of West Union and Mrs. Katie Faye Major of Williamston; two brothers, Everette Rhodes of Saluda, and Roy Rhodes of Greenwood; three sisters, Mrs Nellie Thrailkill and Miss Mary Frances Rhodes, both of Saluda, and Effie Quarles of Clinton.
Services will be 3pm, Tuesday at East Clemson Baptist Church conducted by the Rev. Francis L. Whitmire and the Rev. Marvin Murphree. Burial will be in Memorey Gardens.
