Maude Mae Riner age 101, went to be with her Lord and Savior Thursday, October 22, 2009 at the Carilion Giles Memorial Hospital, Pearisburg, VA. Born December 22, 1907 at Rock Camp, WV she was the daughter of the late William Cook and Lucinda Ballard Harvey. Maude was a retired employee of the Celanese Corp after 35 years of service and along with her husband, the late William Riner, owned and operated the Riner Grocery at Rock Camp for 34 years and was a member of the Rock Camp United Methodist Church for 82 years. She was a devoted mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by four sisters, Millie Sims, Neva Martin, Jessie Woods and Lucille Ballard, two brothers, Everett and Mack Harvey and a half brother, Walter Ballard. Survivors include one daughter, Charlotte Ferguson of Rock Camp, WV, one granddaughter, Patricia Ferguson of Scottsdale, AZ, one grandson, John Ferguson and wife Kimberly of Rock Camp, WV and three great grandchildren, John III, Courtney and William all of Rock Camp, WV. Funeral Services will be 1:00 PM, Monday, October 26, 2009 at the Rock Camp United Methodist Church with Pastor Gene Fullen officiating. Burial will follow in the Orchard Cemetery, Ballard, WV. Friends may call from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM, Sunday, October 25, 2009 at the Broyles-Shrewsbury Funeral Home, Peterstown, WV and one hour prior to the services at the church. The family requests memorial donations be made to the Rock Camp United Methodist Church, Rt. 1 Box 206, Lindside, WV 24951. Arrangements by Broyles-Shrewsbury Funeral Home, Peterstown, WV.
