Millard Fillmore Edwards, Sr. was one of the children born to Captain Nicholas Stone Edwards and Adaline Bankston.

Millard was united in marriage twice during his life-time: first, to Alice Pocahontas Spring, on September 14, 1875 in Tangipahoa Parish, Louisiana. Millard and Alice were blessed with the birth of at least seven children:
