He was a son of the late James Robert Wade and Addie Louise Bowman Wade. The Warren County native was an attorney, a public defender in Ohio and Hancock counties and associate commonwealth's attorney. He served in the 38 Judicial Circuit in Butler, Ohio, Edmonson and Hancock counties, and was in private practice and was a county attorney for two years in Butler County. He graduated from Butler County High School in 1971, received a bachelor of arts degree in 1975 from Western Kentucky University and graduated from Howard Law School in Washington, D.C., in 1978. He started his law practice in 1982. He also worked on Capitol Hill in Washington, D.C. under Sen. Carter.
Survivors include his fiancé, Rita A. Jones of Morgantown; a stepmother, Sue Wade of Bowling Green and a cousin, Laura Ellen Headrick and her husband, Jimmie, of Glasgow.
