William "Bill", age 65, died unexpectedly at home on Wednesday. He was born to George & Mae Gosda.
Bill married his high school sweetheart on June 21, 1961. He worked at Madison Metro Bus Co. for 35 years, retiring in 2001. He was nicknamed "Willy" and "Gentle Ben" by co-workers and friends. He grew up helping his uncle on the farm in the summer, up north. Bill loved to bargain shop and enjoyed his antiques, especially his antique cars. He was on bowling leagues through the years and a former member of the Moose Lodge. Bill loved football and car races, and raced stockcars when he was younger. He liked being outdoors, camping, hunting and fishing. Bill was known by many and well liked.
Bill leaves behind his wife, a son his wife, two daughters, son-in-law, seven grandchildren, four great-grandchildren, two sisters, a brother-in-law, two brothers and their wives, two sisters-in-law, two brothers-in-law, and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents; mother-in-law and father-in-law, Betty and William Simonson; and sisters-in-law, Kea Jensen and Kay Hanek.
