I'm a descendant of David HARNESS, Sr., a great-grandson of Martin HARNISH. David, Sr.died in 1855 in Rockcastle Co, KY. He and his wife, Elizabeth (PAINE)Harness had 11 children. The 3rd child was David HARNESS, Jr. who married Rebecca BETHURUM in 1837 and had 6 children. Their third child was William Bethurum HARNESS, who married Louisa WILSON in 1869, and had 6 children, including twins, Eugene F. and James H. HARNESS, born on Oct. 7, 1885. James H. HARNESS, my Grandfather, was a schoolteacher and mailcarrier. He died on May 29, 1924 of typhoid fever. My father, Lois James HARNESS was born on Aug. 28, 1924, never seeing his father. Some of the information I have is from the Church of Latter Day Saints database. Their information helped me make the connection from David, Sr. back to Martin HARNISH, but it is missing some relevant dates and the last three children (born after the 1880 KY census) of William B. HARNESS. Fortunately, I have a cousin, Donna (HARNESS) BURDINE of Lincoln Co, KY who has done an extensive study of the HARNESS family. She doesn't have a computer or Internet access, but has shared her documentation with me. If you have questions about David HARNESS, Sr. (1781 - 1855) and his descendants, I may have info. you need.
