After marrying his neighbor Sally Stone in 1818, the newlyweds moved to Halifax, Vt, just across the Connecticut River from Chesterfield. There they managed over 200 acres of farmland with Ichabod's father Amos. In 1824 Ichabod leased out all his land in Halifax and the family moved 130 miles north to Fayston. They remained there until their deaths. Ichabod was a very successful farmer in Fayston and Irasville, Vt. He outlived his wife by 13 years. He died of Pneumonia.

Gravesite Details
This cemetery sits right on the main road into Waitsville. Ichabod and Sally's stones are right in the very front. In 2001 I found Ichabod's stone very carefully repaired.
