J.H. Thompson, Retired Woodson Farmer, Dies

James H. Thompson, 84 year old retired Woodson farmer, died at 8:45 a.m. Thursday at Passavant hospital where he had been a patient since New Years Day.
Mr. Thompson was a native of Canada, having been born at Locknow, Ontario March 25, 1876. His parents, William S. and Martha Adams Thompson, died when he was a small child and Mr. Thompson was raised on the J. W. Leach farm west of this city where he resided until moving a number of years ago to Woodson. He never married and was the last of eight children.
The only survivors are nieces and nephews, two of whom live in Jacksonville, Russell and Harry E. Thompson.
The body is at Williamson funeral home where friends may call at anytime. It was the request of the deceased that friends and relative not send flowers upon the occasion of his death.
Funeral services will be held at 1:30 p.m. Saturday at the funeral home with Rev. William J. Boston officiating. Interment will be made in Diamond Grove cemetery.
