Mariam was the daughter of Owen and Elizabeth Stanton . She married Aaron Lancaster on March 6, 1809. They lived in Wayne Co., and then Carteret Co., NC before moving to (Driftwood MM), Jackson Co., IN in 1831. Aaron and Mariam purchased a productive farm near the meetinghouse and school. They had 6 children:

After Aaron's death in Jackson Co., IN, Mariam stayed on the old place until December of 1863, when she travelled with her son's mother-in-law Rachel Ruddick to Iowa.
