CENTER JUNCTION, Iowa -- Thomas Randall Tjaden, 51, of Center Junction, died Saturday, Oct. 17, 2009, in his home.
Services will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday, Oct. 21, at Wayne Zion Lutheran Church, rural Monticello, with the Rev. Bill Nielsen officiating. Burial will be at in Wayne Zion Cemetery. Friends may call from 9 to 11 a.m. Wednesday at the church. The Goettsch Funeral Home, Monticello, is in charge of arrangements.
He was born on Feb. 14, 1958, in Monticello, son of Rudolph Tjaden Sr. and Patricia Bennett. He married Donna Appleby on Feb. 16, 1981, in Hobart, Okla.
He worked as a mechanic for most of his life.
Thomas enjoyed being outdoors and spending time with his family. He will be missed dearly by those closest to him.
Surviving are his wife Donna; two sons, Blake (Nicole), of Olin, and Brett (Lindsay Harris), of Guernsey; four sisters, Julianna (Richard) Stoffel, of Dubuque, Trudy Hines, of Hopkinton, Sandra Deahl and Dianna Cerney, both of Cedar Rapids; three brothers, Dan, of Marshalltown, Steven, of Atlanta, and Rudy, of Dubuque; and eight grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents; and a sister, Janine Tjaden.
