George Wilbur Collins, Sr., age 78, passed away December 28, 1998 in Orange Park. He was born in Broxton, Georgia and had resided in Duval and Clay Counties for the last 56 years. He was a charter member of the Lake Asbury Baptist Church and a charter member of the Jax Raceway Hall of Fame. He is survived by his wife, Juliette C. Collins; son, George W. Collins, Jr.; two grandchildren; and three great grandchildren. Visitation will be from 7 until 9PM Wednesday, today, at Holly Hills Funeral HomeE, 3601 Old Jennings Road, Middleburg. Funeral services will be at 11AM Thursday at the Lake Asbury Baptist Church with Rev. Jim White officiating. Interment will follow in Holly Hill Memorial Park. Memorial contributions may be made to Lake Asbury Baptist Church, 2671 Henley Road, Green Cove Springs, FL 32043.
