GEORGE A. CESSNA
Of 1329 18th Ave. died at 9:40 a.m. Wednesday, June 6, 1979, in the Altoona Hospital, following a brief illness. Mr. Cessna retired from the Penn Central in 1972 as a boilermaker after 36 years' service. Following his retirement, he worked as a member of the staff of Judge Eugene Ianuzzi. He was born Sept. 3, 1911, in Altoona, the son of Leroy and Carlotta (Fletcher) Cessna, and married Martha Ann Guyer. Surviving are his wife, two children, Mrs. Jeanne Wilson and Edward of Altoona, two grandchildren, three great-grandchildren and a brother and two sisters, Charles of Altoona, Grace of Miami, Fla., and Mrs. Dorothy Harvey of Philadelphia. Three grandchildren, Mrs. Joleen Vicars of Altoona, Craig Orberg of Chicago, Ill., and Beth Orberg, at home, were raised in the home. Mr. Cessna was a member of the Trinity Lutheran Church of Juniata, and the men's Bible class. He served on the church council as an usher and was a member of the finance committee. Friends will be received in the Mauk & Yates Funeral Home, Juniata, from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Friday and in the Trinity Lutheran Church from 10 to 11 a.m. Saturday.
CESSNA - Services for George A. Cessna of 1329 18th Ave. will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday in the Trinity Lutheran Church, Juniata, by the Rev. A. Donald Main. Interment in Blair Memorial Park, Bellwood. Friends will be recieved in the Mauk & Yates Funeral Home, Inc., Juniata, from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Friday and in the church from 10 a.m. to time of service Saturday.
