Carl Junction, Mo., March 13. — James F. Patterson, 92 years old, died early yesterday afternoon at his home here. He had been in failing health several months.

Born February 7, 1854, in Alabama, he had engaged in mercantile business in Texas and New Mexico, retiring 20 years ago. He moved to Carl Junction 10 years ago.

Surviving are his widow, Mrs. Alpha Patterson at the home, two sons, Earl Patterson of Tucson, Ariz. and Sam Patterson, whose address was not known; two daughters, Mrs. Mable Myer of Long Beach, Calif., and Mrs. Margaret Leland of Fort Worth, Tex.: a sister. Mrs. Emma Connolly of Dublin, Tex.; 14 grandchildren and several great-grandchildren.

The body of Mr. Patterson will remain at the Roney Funeral Service until 1:30 o'clock Thursday afternoon when it will be taken to the Methodist church where funeral rites will be held at 2:30 o'clock. The Rev. J. W. Moore of Joplin and the Rev. J. H. DeVries of Carl Junction will officiate.

Pallbearers will be O. C. Magoon, Paul Vervryck, Roy Gnadt, Richard Blevins, Carl Mayo and Max Lampo.

Members of the Methodist Bible class will be honorary pallbearers. Burial will be in Carl Junction cemetery.
