Mr. Jacob S. Myers, one of the most respected and venerable citizens of Berkeley county died at his home near Berkeley Station on the line of the Cumberland Valley Railroad on Thursday morning of last week at the ripe old of 82 years. Until about a year ago he was active and well going about everywhere, but since that time his health has been gradually failing until he was stricken with paralysis a few days before his death from which he died. He was respected and loved by all who knew him. In fact he was one of the finest old gentelman we have ever known. He had been a member of the Reformed church of this city for many years and Rev. D. R. Heffheins officiated at funeral which took place from his late home on Saturday afternoon.

Surviving him are the following children: Mrs. C. J. F. Thatcher, of Hagerstown; Mrs. L. C. Gerling, of Martinsburg; Mrs. Otho Cushwa, of Berkeley county; Miss Fannie Myers, of Hagerstown; Mr. Frank Myers, who resides on the home place; Mr. Wm. Myers and Mr. John Myers, of Berkeley county. His wife died several years ago.
