Nelda J. Applegate of Willcox died May 3, 2008 at the age of 88. She was born on April 15, 1920 in Goff, Kansas to James Franklin and Hollie (Hanger) Organ.

Nelda was a graduate of Beauty College and was a pharmacy assistant at Basha's for many years. She married Elmer Applegate on Oct. 12, 1941 in Kansas City, Mo. and they moved between Kansas City and Arizona numerous times due to Elmer working for TWA. In 1985, Elmer and Nelda retired to Colorado until moving to Willcox in 2000.

Nelda is survived by her husband Elmer of Willcox, sons Jim and Ron (Jackie) both of Willcox, and her faithful companion Mickey. Also surviving are her grandsons, Steve, Al and Will, and great-grandson Brandon. Preceding her in death were her parents and a brother, William.

Funeral Services will be at 11 a.m. on Thursday, May 8, at Westlawn Chapel. Burial will follow in Sunset Cemetery. Contributions may be made in Nelda's name to your charity of choice.

A memorial service in the remembrance and celebration of the life of David Mayo Peterson was held on Thursday, May 1, at 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. at La Vista Church of Nazarene in White Rock. In lieu of flowers, please make a donation to a charity of your choice."
