Basel, 80, Ontario, Calif. were at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday at the Marsh Chapel here with her son, the Rev. Richard Burke, officiating. Burial was in Green Hill Cemetery northeast of Rogersville. Mrs. Basel, a native of Douglas County, died about noon Thursday in an Upland, Calif. hospital. She had suffered a fractured hip and apparently died from complications. She had lived much of her life in the Fordland area. Other survivors include two sons, George of Everett, Wash. and Nathan of Fruitland, Idaho; two daughters, Mrs. Gladys Greene, Laverne, Calif. and Mrs. Hazel Smith, Pemona, Calif.; a brother, Ira L. Burks, Nixa; four sisters, Mrs. Evelyn Palmer, Mrs. Ellie O'Bannon and Mrs. Wilma Hare, all of Springfield and Mrs. Dessa Ayers, Ash Grove; 19 grandchildren and 21 great grandchildren.
