He was born about 1845 in Pa. His father was Patrick Fagan of Louth county, Ireland. His mother was Elizabath Byrne. I believe he moved to NY after his first wife Elizabeth Shay died about 1878 (in Pa). - He then married Fannie McCartney in NY (who is the mother of Gertrude). Not sure why he eventually settled in Missouri.
