On October 14, 2009, at the age of 78, Melva (Anderson) Fronk, surrounded by loved ones, departed this life. After a wait of nearly four years, she joined her best friend and eternal companion, Duane, who past away on December 17, 2005.

Melva was born on July 11, 1931, to Lottie Butler and Archie Anderson in their
one-bedroom home on Harrisville Road. She attended Lincoln Elementary, Mound Fort Jr. High, and Ogden High School.

On July 30, 1951, she married her childhood sweetheart, Duane Fronk, in the Logan Temple. They enjoyed 54 years as partners, sharing every moment of life's experiences together. From their harmony came two children, a daughter Kathy and a son Kevin.

She and Duane served as president of the La Danseurs Dance Club. Their children have fond memories of decorating the Browning Armory for the dances.

She held many callings in the LDS Church and was an active member of the Rock Cliff 6th Ward (previously the 62nd). She touched numerous lives as a Primary teacher and leader, Relief Society visiting teacher and president.

Melva was an exceptional wife and mother, leaving a void that will not be filled. She was gentle, loving and always making time for anyone in need. She will be remembered for her cinnamon rolls, cheese potatoes, and chicken cordon bleu. She served, often with her sister Norene at her side, as a Cub Scout den mother, little league baseball coach, Eagle Scout motivator, homeroom mother, PTA president, family historian, and chauffeur. Her children and grandchildren spent many hours with Melva making homemade candies. She perfected the art of hand-dipped chocolates.

She was a friend to the lonely, downtrodden, widowed, and elderly. All were drawn to her warm heart and caring spirit. She is an example for all. She had unconditional love for her family and faith in God. She left a legacy of love, hard work, and unwavering trust in the Lord.

She was preceded in death by her parents; two brothers, Archie and Gus; two sisters, Bea and Carma; and her husband.

She is survived by her daughter, Kathy (Kerry) Favero, North Ogden; her son Kevin (Melanie) Fronk, Kingwood, Texas; and her sister Norene (Dick) Jardine, Ogden; nine grandchildren: Michelle, Kelly, Alisa, Kassidy (Favero), Bennjamin, Daniel, Amanda, Stephanie, and Gabriel (Fronk); six great-grandchildren: Sierra, Ryan, Colter, Alivia (Trease), Ashira and Ethan (Fronk), with one more arriving in the spring.
