George R. Barstow

BOYD – George R. Barstow, age 87, of Boyd, passed away on Friday, June 24, 2011 at St. Joseph's Hospital, Chippewa Falls, with his extended family by his side.

He was born Jan. 8, 1924 in the Town of Plainfield, Conn., the son of the late Ralph and Mary (Raycher) Barstow. As a young boy he moved with his mother and six sisters to the Town of Wilson, with George graduating from Augusta High School. He was born with a handicap, which limited his abilities, but he was a very energetic and determined worker.

He is survived by: his sisters, Jean (Jack) Nelson of Chippewa Falls; and Eleanor (Willard) Benish of Racine.

He was preceded in death by: his sisters, Dorothy Licht, Mary Michels, Alice Schuebel; and his twin sister, Catherine Richter.

Special appreciation is extended to Pam Dorn and Joe Raycher for their dedicated care given to George.

Services will be held at 11 a.m., Tuesday, June 28, 2011 at at St. Joseph's Catholic Church, Boyd, with Fr. Joseph Raja officiating.

Friends and family may call from 9:30 -10:30 a.m. at the Plombon Funeral Home, Stanley, prior to service time on Tuesday morning. Inurnment will take place at St. Peter's Cemetery in Wilson at a later date.
