Mont C. (Mike) Altman
Wampum- Mont C. (Mike) Altman, 79, of Wampum, died at 3 a.m. July 6, 1977, in The Haven Convalescent Home after a six week illness.
He was born in Butler County, Pa., on Oct. 9, 1897, to the late William and Dora Belle Yingst Altman. He was a retired self-employed roofer.
Mr. Altman was married first to the former Alice Roth, who died in 1933.
He is survived by his wife, the former Leona Bowser, two daughters, Mrs. Ralph (Eileen) Ferrucci of Wampum, and Mrs. Donald (Janet) Gribel of Cabot, Pa.; four sons, Weston L. of New Castle RD 2, Robert of Wampum, Richard of New Galilee RD 1, and Gary of Cabot; three sisters, Mrs. Ida McMillen, Mrs. Oscar (Virginia) Menken, both of Cabot, and Mrs. Herbert (Stella) Stivason of Butler; a brother, Herbert of Cabot; 11 grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by two sons, William in 1975, and James; a brother, Floyd, and a sister, Mrs. Florence Hackett.
Friends will be received at the Robert S. Marshall Funeral Home, Main street, from 7 to 9 p.m. Wednesday and from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Thursday. The service will be at 11 a.m. Friday at the funeral home conducted by the Rev. Robert E. Robinson of the First Pentecostal Church of Wampum. Burial will be in Clinton Cemetery.
