Elmer Sylvester Wiles, Ball Road, Frederick, was a son of Charles Courtney and Alta Summers Wiles of Haw Bottom Road and the husband of Mary Naomi Brandenburg Wiles.

Elmer served in the Army during WWI then farmed his entire life.

Elmer's children by his 2nd marriage are Sylvester Roscoe Wiles, Ruth E. Wiles Chipley, Naomi M. Wiles Cheeks, Mary Helen Wiles Fouche and Kenneth Elmer Wiles.

Elmer's children by his first marriage are Bernadetta Wiles Brandenburg, Kenneth Edward Wiles Sr., Ellsworth, and Lois Jean "Parsy' Wiles Love.

Elmer was a brother to Anna Waddington, Ida Vaughan and Evelyn Crawford, Charles Isaac, Harlan and Arthur Wiles.
