Chilton: Mrs. Catherine Diedrich, aged 85, died at 8:20 a.m. today at the home of her daughtr, Mrs. Mary Merrill on N. State street. Mrs. Diedrich fractured her hip in a fall last September and since that time had been confined to her bed.
Mrs. Diedrich was born in Prussia, Germany February 21, 1849, and came to America in 1854, residing in Mt. Calvary until her marriage to Peter Diedrich in 1870. The couple made their home in the town of Stockbridge until Mr. Diedrichs death on November 27, 1898, after which Mrs. Diedrich made her home with her son, the Rev. Nicholas Diedrich, who resided at various times at Green Bay, New Franken and Clintonville. In June 1934 Mrs. Diedrich came to Chilton to live with her daughter.
She was a member of the Christian Mother society of Stockbridge and of the Third Order of St. Francis at Mt. Calvary.
Survivors are her only daughter, Mrs. Mary Merrill of Chilton; five sons, Christ who resides on the homestead farm in the town of Stockbridge, Frank of Hilbert; William of Kloten; Joseph of Chilton; the Rev. Nicholas Diedrich at Clintonville; and a half-sister, Mrs. Anna Molitor, of Mt. Calvary
The body has been taken to the Schumacher Funeral Home at Stockbridge where it can be viewed until Tuesday morning when funeral services will be hald at St. Marys church at Stockbridge.
