Ilene Nelson, age 85 of Bronson, Mich., died Sunday, Aug. 17, 2003 at Sturgis Hospital.
Ilene was born April 1, 1918 in Ontario, Ind., a daughter of the late Fred O. and Anna M. (Boyd) Parish.
She graduated from Lima High School in Howe, Ind., with the class of 1936.
On Nov. 28, 1938, she married Floyd "Tony" Nelson in LaGrange, Ind., and he preceded her in death on Nov. 23, 1977.
Ilene made her home in rural Bronson since 1942 and had attended the Ontario Congregational Church. She was a homemake and enjoyed traveling, ice skating, swimming and theater.
Surviving are: a son, Jerry L. Nelson of Bronson; two daughters, JoAnn Nelson of Colorado Springs, Colo., and Carol Lundorff of Reno., Nev., grandchildren, Todd and Lisa Rumsey of Sturgis, and Erin and Chris Marshall of Kendallville, Ind.; great-grandchildren, Tyler Rumsey and Bayli, Jaydin and Lauryn Marshall; two sisters, Vivian Smith of Howe, Ind., and Donna (Gene) Henricks of Mongo, Ind.; and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by one sister, Evelyn Parish and three brothers, Evan, Vernal and Frankie Parish.
