Ethel Irene Marie Vivian, age 92 of Chesterton, passed away Sunday, October 11, 2009 at The Williows Rehab Center, Valparaiso, IN.
She was born November 30, 1916 in Grand Forks, ND. She was married January 12, 1993 in Las Vegas, NV to John Vivian who preceded her in death.
Ethel is survived by 3 children, Leona M. (Roger) Miller of Eugene, OR, Bernice Adele Lundahl of Valparaiso, Bill (Judy) Waugh, Presque, WI; sister, Maxine (Bill) Johnson of Michigan City, IN; many grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren. Preceded in death by siblings, Helen Bensz, Alice Jackson, Jim, Ed and Cora Barlow, Doris Harding, Louise Logman, Jean Spires and Bill Barlow.
Ethel was a member of the 1st United Methodist Church of Chesterton, a member of the Woman of the Moose Lodge #935 of Michigan City, Royal Neighbor's of America Golden Rod Camp, Volunteer at the National Lakeshore, member of Liberty Farm Bureau, Member of Toast Mistress of Valparaiso. She enjoyed knitting, crocheted quilts, and was an excellent seamstress.
Funeral Service will be held Saturday, October 17, 2009 at 1:00 p.m. from the White-Love Funeral Home, 525 S. 2nd St, Chesterton with Pastor Chris Newman-Jacobs officiating. Burial to follow at Chesterton Cemetery. The family will receive friends Saturday from 11:00 a.m. until time of Service at 1:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
