Obituary article shows he married Adeline Fellows in 1852. They were the parents of 8 children, Wesley (1862-1864), George who died in 1917, William, Henry, Lewis J., John, Frances Belle (Acker) Bortle and Emma (Acker) Fitzgerald.

After the death of his first wife, Adeline, he married again in 1874 to Chloe Hilton. They had two children, both died in infancy; Maude 1877-1878 and Mertie 1880.

Obituary also shows he was the stepfather of Mrs. Olin Lyman who resided in NY.
