Memorial services will be held for Robert Tucker, 78, Sunday, October 18, 2009, at 2:00 pm at the First Baptist Church in Tatum with Brother Charles Day officiating. Services are being conducted by Kirby-Smith-Rogers Funeral Home in Lovington. Robert was born April 1, 1931, in Oklahoma to William Henry and Virgie Mae (Paulsom) Tucker and passed away on October 13, 2009, at Hobbs Health Center in Hobbs, New Mexico. Robert married Geneva Frazier on December 14, 1954, in Portales, NM. Robert owned and operated Tucker's Service Station in Crossroads. He attended the First Baptist Church in Tatum and he enjoyed playing dominoes and pool at the Senior Citizen Center. Robert had a strong love for the Lord and enjoyed special relationships with all if his nieces, nephews and grandchildren. He was a very compassionate, hardworking husband, father, and friend. He is survived by his wife Geneva Tucker of the home, one son: Henry Wayne and wife Loretta Tucker of Tatum, NM; three daughters: Laquita and husband Tim Thomas of Lovington, NM, Rilda Perdue of El Paso, TX, and Pam and husband Russell Niemeyer of Hobbs, NM; four sisters: Ruby and husband Ernie Conarroe, Hazel Scott, Pauline Denton, and Pearline Meeker; seven grandchildren: Chris and wife Meagan Perdue, Wesley Perdue, Kyle & Michael Niemeyer, Rebecca, Darby & Jason Tucker; and great-granddaughter: Ayedan Perdue. He was preceded in death by his parents, one half brother: L.Z.; and two half sisters: Novi Miller and Emily Marlow.
